Worldwide Collage Blog Hop

My friend and fellow collagist, Gareth Halliday invited me to take part to a World Wide Blog Hop by answering 4 questions about my collage work and by inviting 3 other artists to take part.

1. What am I working on ?

I’m currently working on a new series of collages. I’m also taking part in a group show in Berlin this fall, which I’m very excited about. Beside collages, I’m in love with photography and I’m looking forward to try myself in this area.

2. How does Your work differ from others of its genre ?

That’s a hard question, because generally we all use the same materials (paper, scissors, glue etc.) Collage is just a medium that help us to express ourselves, our visions and emotions. I believe that this little piece of yourself that you bring to your work is what differs you from others.

3. Why do You create what You do ?

Because I love to make collages. Scraps, scissors, glue -that’s what I love. I like the feeling I have while creating any new work and also the feeling I have after the work is finished and the story is told. I guess, we could say, that collages is like addiction to me.

4. How does Your creative process work ?

I try to work on collages as much as I can. I usually start with an image that inspires me and then the journey begins, I go through the material ( sometimes several times ) until I find the matching image, the one that speaks to me. Often the initial idea is different than the final result and that is what I love about collages - you never know where it will take you.
